I apologize for the delay in getting this initial blog posted. I would just like to start by saying thank you for the opportunity to help you with this reconstruction process. My first full day was December 3rd 2008. Let me give you a recap as to what has happened since then.
I have walked all of the units (Both Baywater and Villas) that I had access to and finished up last Friday (12th of December). I will be creating a spreadsheet for those units regarding what I found if anything. If you would like a copy of that spreadsheet please send an email with your information to mrpconstruction@rocketmail.com and I would be happy to email that to you. Also if your unit is on an individual keypad code (anything other than the beach club code) please let me know what that is so that I may inspect.
This week I am meeting with the fire suppression companies and the electrician to get these items repaired in the buildings as fast as possible. The contract for the Fire safety companies (Kauffman & Alarmtech) was approved and we are working on a schedule. I am giving myself till the middle of January to have these Items complete but will be doing everything I can to have them done sooner. Also I have given the remediation company (Cotton) an opportunity to come back and inspect the water lines for leaks before the water is turned on to the buildings and they will be going through them with their plumber over the next few days. The power has been restored to most of the buildings out here. There are seven buildings that Centerpoint is working on because there was a problem that occurred with the transformers after their initial repair. I want everyone to know I am eagerly trying to get these rectified.
I would also like to update you on the roof repairs. As of now the roofs that are complete are as follows:
4151 Pointe West Dr. 4221 Pointe West Dr.
4141 Pointe West Dr. 4211 Pointe West Dr.
4131 Pointe West Dr. 4231 Pointe West Dr.
4121 Pointe West Dr. 4241 Pointe West Dr.
4111 Pointe West Dr. 26411 Cat Tail Dr.
26421 Cat Tail Dr.
The rest of the buildings are being worked on and I will post them as they are finished.
In closing I would just like to say that mine and the boards main focus out here is to get the people back into their units safely and as fast as possible. I am available for any questions or concerns you might have, so please don’t hesitate to call or email me. It has been a little hectic so please allow 48 hours for a response. I believe with a little effort and determination we can get Pointe West back on its feet and fully functional in a timely manner. Please understand that this is a construction process and the schedules that are submitted are a reference to how long a project should take and are in no way a guarantee. There will be some hiccups along the way but I am here to make sure that we get through those and KEEP THE PROJECT MOVING FORWARD!
Thanks Again,
Matthew R. Prince
