I'm pleased to tell you that the power is on to every building. The breakers inside the units have been turned off with the exception of the a/c (unless affected during the storm) The a/c was kept on to help keep the humidity down inside the units. Please understand that during the construction process the power will be on and off to the buildings as repairs are made but as of now they all have power.
At this point, The board and I do NOT recommend anyone coming down here to stay. Please keep in mind that if you need to access your unit to retrieve any personal belongings make sure to check in with the front desk at the beach club as the buildings are gated and locked. Also the roof repairs and other construction processes being performed make walking around these buildings unsafe.
The water and Fire suppression system will take a little bit longer to get up and running (hopefully by the middle of January) It has come to light this week that there may be some issues with the pipes going to the buildings and I am working on getting those issues isolated. I have been told that there is a 14 day lead time for the city to come out and restore water. Now that the power is back on we can run the pumps and insure their ability to perform when water does arrive.
I understand that it is frustrating to not be able to use your condo during the holidays. However I hope that you can find comfort in the fact that the board and I are working very hard to get you into your units as fast and as safe as possible. Getting the power on is a huge step forward and I am excited about the progress that has been made.
Cotton has had their plumber out here the past 3 days going through the units and making sure all of the visible lines are capped off and the water is shut off at each of your unit valves. This will help to minimize the potential leaks that may occur when the water is restored to the buildings.
My next move is to get the fire safety systems up and the water back to the buildings. I hope this comes as good news to everyone and hope that everyone has a good Holiday.
